Automation Engineer Intern (Software)

Qualifications
- Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field
- Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
- Previous, hands-on automation experience involving robotics, electrical panel design, industrial controls and programming
- Excellent problem solving ability
- Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others

Responsibilities
- In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing robust and scalable automated solutions to support manufacturing and distribution
- Develop all aspects of engineering design: electrical, safety, PLC/HMI/robotic programming, mechanical integration
- Ensure all solutions comply with product design specifications
- Generate revision-controlled design and user documentation
- Participate in design reviews and present solutions to team and management
- Troubleshoot, support and continuously improve existing automated solutions
- Research and development of new, cutting-edge automation concepts
- Collaborate with project teams across Garmin (Olathe & Taiwan)
