Qualifications
- Cutting edge projects, relevant to real world challenges
- Mathematics coursework at the undergraduate calculus level or higher
- Familiarity with at least one computer programming language
- Major field of study: Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must pass a Security Pre-Screen and have the ability to obtain a security clearance

- $19.00 - 31.00 per hour (This range is for the Colorado area only)
- The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity
Responsibilities
- Work in a collaborative and dynamic team environment
- As an Intern, you will support verification, validation, version control, and deployment of research and production code for the office
- During the summer you will learn the art of scientific programming, testing, and revision control
- You will work with senior members on tasks involving validation, unit testing, and regression testing of new and existing scientific code
- This will involve analyzing scientific programs developed by members of the technical staff, commenting on them, making computational improvements where feasible, and checking them in to a repository
- You will be encouraged to interact with members of the technical staff that developed the programs in order to understand the algorithms they are analyzing
- As a National Security Solutions Intern, you will:
- Learn and apply state-of-the-art scientific coding practices
- Perform validation, unit testing, and regression testing of new and existing MATLAB and/or C/C++ scientific code
- Learn and apply principles of software revision control
- Document work and make a final presentation
- Selected interns for this paid opportunity will be provided with the opportunity to mentor with experienced professionals, gain experience and establish a name for themselves in this high demand career field
