Qualifications

  • Spanning the course of 10 weeks, from June 3rd - August 9th, this program is available to sophomore-graduate students currently enrolled in a college or university
  • Qualifications Applicants in their Sophomore, Junior or Senior undergraduate program - including programs in software engineering, computer science, computer engineering or similar - will be considered
  • Interest in learning IT/software engineering practices and methodologies
  • Expectation of hands-on, technical work assignments - such as completing user stories, writing unit tests and participating in code reviews
  • Drive to self-initiate learning, project and training opportunities - within a well-supported team environment
  • Rising Sophomore to Graduate Students currently enrolled in College or University
  • Interns must be willing to attend a two-day orientation on Eastern Standard Time

Responsibilities

  • Immerse, Explore, and Impact the Universe of Payment Solutions by expressing your interest in the Global Payments 2024 Summer Internship Program
  • This program will last from 6/3/2024 - 8/9/2024 and will be a full 40 hour-a-week schedule, with some schedule flexibility
  • Openness to learning development tools - such as software ticketing systems (Atlassian Jira or Rally), technical documentation (such as Swagger API), diagramming tools (Lucid Charts, schema diagramming), code repositories (primarily GitHub Enterprise and Bitbucket)
  • Responsibilities Intern will work within the Retail team, part of the Product Development (PD) department at TouchNet Information Systems
  • TouchNet PD consists of approximately 20 scrum teams, developing and supporting software applications for higher education focused payment solutions
  • Position will learn general software development practices, including Agile methodologies, rituals, scrum and Kanban
  • Intern will participate in solution design/grooming processes, project estimation, scrum practices and sprint planning/retros/demos within a data product development environment
  • Intern may be assigned user stories involving the various products owned by the team
  • Intern will interface with all members of the team to complete tasks and learn collaboratively
