Qualifications
- Object-oriented programming (C++ primarily)
- Avionics integration, which often requires reading manuals/schematics
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
- Experience with networks programming (TCP/IP, UDP)
- Ability to adapt to change, determined to accomplish tasks based on program schedule, collaborate with teammates in order to make the best decisions, enjoy learning new technologies, be self-motivated and contribute to a positive work environment
- Experience with requirements gathering and technical writing
- Experience with one or more of the following: (listed in order of preference)
- C++ (Qt 5/6, wxWidgets, Boost)
- SQL (PostgreSQL , Oracle)
- Docker (including Compose)
- Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices

Responsibilities
- This role is responsible for working alongside the software development team and system engineers to produce software that interfaces directly or indirectly with avionics hardware
- Interns in this role will benefit greatly from having basic systems engineering experience to help them understand the different software and hardware components required to support customers
- Interns in this role are expected to be able to complete moderately complex software tasks under the guidance of senior peers
- Responsible for performing the following software development and integration efforts in an avionics environment:
- Full-stack web application development (Python + Flask, PostgreSQL, JS)
- Supporting aircraft communications using ground-to-air and air-to-ground software applications
- Testing and evaluating software, (unit tests, CI/CD, and/or by hand)
- Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite
