About Atomic

Atomic is a venture fund that founds companies. We prototype new companies and assemble teams to scale the most promising ideas into independent ventures.

We build companies that improve the future. Our goal isn't to attract press attention or make a quick flip. It's to create long-lasting businesses that improve workstreams, add value to users, and make life more joyful. Our values create a culture of shared success across companies, helping drive collaboration and ideation.

What's the opportunity?

Atomic is growing fast. We've created an environment where product teams, with big ambitions, can build companies that impact people's lives. Across our portfolio we employ more than 60 engineers, designers, product leads, and data scientists that all support Atomic's mission to build companies that push the world forward. Come help us shape the process and experience of building new, ambitious, and exciting new companies that have a long lasting impact on the world.

We’re particularly focused on building an organisation where people thrive, grow in their careers, and enjoy having high impact through their work. We’re looking for eager engineering interns to help us grow our capabilities and capacity.

The Atomic team is comprised of many cross-functional people that love to contribute in any way they can to build new companies. Each company follows a structure that we believe makes sense from our years of knowledge and experience building companies in additional to the collective decades of experience from the amazing people we hire to be a part of our team.

You’ll be expected to own your space: work with all disciplines on your team to build, launch and iterate. Talk directly with your customers, take part in usability studies, work with data analysts and researchers to ask the right questions and make good use of the answers.

From the moment your internship begins, the work you produce will be have true impact on the company that you work with. While learning you'll also be designing, building, and delivering real solutions.

We take a sincere interest in the growth of our interns. Not only is each intern matched with a mentor who provides guidance over the course of the program, there are also many opportunities to interface with Atomic team members from different disciplines for a more comprehensive internship experience.

As an Atomic intern you won't be left out to dry. You'll receive training from your manager as well as various team leads as your responsibilities grow.

While helping you to build the technical skills needed to succeed, you'll also have the opportunity to connect with industry leaders and grow the network that will be integral to launching your career upon graduation.

This role is based in our city centre office on King Street, in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. Our entire R&D team is based here. You'll report directly to our director of engineering.
